A victorious team and captain Sam Moore receiving the award……beating St Stephens club Navan
On behalf of the pupils, parents and staff of Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh, let me begin by stating how thrilled we are to be involved in this year’s Corn Cois Farraige 2018. To get the opportunity to play at Páirc Táiltean is every young player’s dream. And I wish the players in all finals the best of luck on an occasion that is to be enjoyed and cherished.
The competition has brought great excitement to our school, and for our players and panel a sense tremendous pride to represent their school in a final of this calibre. The Active team and the coaches in the school deserve huge credit for their commitment to sport and for their dedication and passion to forge strong links with the school and the local St Colmcille’s GAA club. The well-being of all our school community is very much at the heart of our ethos and culture promoting positive mental health both in body and mind.
We are truly blessed with the support and coaching we received from Neil Kane St Colmcille’s GPO this year. We are very fortunate to have the beach as a backdrop to our school which facilitates some of our PE curriculum and also the nearby racecourse which Laytown Racecourse Committee permit us to use all year round for the GAA training sessions. A word of thanks to the committee.
This year we were very lucky to receive generous sponsorship from Titan Roofing and East Coast Travel for the football kits and both the boys and girls GAA teams wear the jerseys with great pride.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dedicated staff who promote sport in our school to such a very high standard and to acknowledge their passion for providing such invaluable opportunities for all our pupils in Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh. A sincere word of thanks to Marcas Morrison and the Active team Rob Hayes, Brian Corcoran, Annabel Kearney and Ciara Kilycoyne
Yours in sport,
Bláithin Maguire Principal
